Malaysian para-athletes finished fourth with 50 gold, 38 silver, and 35 bronze at the 2023 Asean Para Games. This achievement exceeded expectations.
Malaysia Aim For 33 Gold Before The 2023 Asean Para Games Started
Before the tournament, Malaysia set a goal of winning 33 gold medals, but just two days into the, the athletes have already managed to reach their goal. The number of medals is also higher than the previous edition.
Dato' Seri Megat, President of Paralympic Council of Malaysia, said that there were 144 Games participants in this Asean Para-games and 62 of them were participating for the first time. It proved that they could be the future stars of the country and expressed the hope that they could continue to progress.
